Our Projects
Project 3 - Philippines
The Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation is a non-profit organization in the Philippines dedicated to helping children in remote and poverty-stricken areas access education. It began in 2010 when a group of friends discovered that children in a coastal community in the Zamboanga Peninsula had to swim to school. Inspired by the idea of a yellow school bus, they provided a bright yellow boat instead—creating a safe and reliable way for these children to get to class.
Since then, the foundation has expanded across the country, delivering boats to various hard-to-reach communities. These yellow boats have become powerful symbols of hope, helping thousands of children cross rivers and coastal waters to attend school. Beyond transportation, the foundation also supports education through school supplies, feeding programs, and scholarships
The Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation What we did
Through The Murph Foundation, we proudly used our community's contributions to build and fund a brand new motorboat for a remote community near the Magat Dam in the Mountain Province of the Philippines. After the dam transformed a once-walkable river into a deep and dangerous crossing, children were left with no safe way to get to school. With no boats previously needed in the area, families had no access to one. Now, thanks to TMF’s impact and support from Yellow Boat of Hope, this new motorboat safely transports every child to school each day—restoring their right to an education and easing the burden on their families.
